What really hard things are happening in this text? Are these things happening in the world now? Where?
A very difficult thing that is happening in the book that I am currently reading is that, people who are against the bar code are having a protest outside of the white house. This is very difficult thing because so many people are against the bar code tattoo and the government doesn't even want to compromise with the protestors. Something similar was happening a few years ago, in the real world. People were protesting on wall street, because they were against unemployment. This protest took place in New York. In the beginning of the book the main character had a vision. She saw that her and her boyfriend Mfumbe were going to the protest.
Another difficult thing that is happening in the book is that Kayla and Mfumbe are forced to steal food and drinks. The only form of payment is by the tattoo and they don't have the tattoo because they're against it. A similar thing that is happening today all over the world is that homeless people sometimes have to steal. They have to steal to feed themselves.
Another difficult thing that is happening in the book is that people are against the bar code tattoo, they think that there shouldn't be a law that everyone has to get a tattoo when they turn 17. Something similar that is happening today in the United States of America is that people are against taxes. People don't want to have to pay taxes every year. In the book the people who are against the bar code tattoo are hiding. If someone catches them, the person without the tattoo will get arrested. Today in the United States if you don't pay your taxes you could get arrested.
A really good thing about this critical thinking response id that you gave a lot of evidence that reflected difficult things in the story. One question, what's the name of this book? Other than that, really good response.
ReplyDeleteI liked how you repeated the main idea throughout the piece and had a lot of evidence for your argument
